Teacher Training Camp (2017 Summer)

Every summer vocation, Taiwan Experimental Education Center conducted three to four weeks course for the teachers from experimental school especially the pilot schools. In 2017, the courses were held from July 10th (Mon) to 28th (Fri) in National Cheng Chi University. The courses focused on practical knowledge about the mixed-age teaching.
First week, Ping Liao, CEO of Outward Bound Taiwan, together with his members conducted a group activity for the teachers to practice in the future. After that, the trainers of the Jenaplan School in Holland and Belgium introduced the Jenaplan School in the Europe. They also guided the teachers to practice how to talk with the children. Last two days, there was a teaching demo lesson about how to teach a mixed-age class in five pilot schools.
Montessori workshop was conducted during second week. The principal of MiaoPu Montessori School, Robert W. Major, and his team showed us how to teach with Montessori teaching aids.
For the last week, Dr. Huicheng Zhang, founder of “Sharestart”(學思達), together with his team and Prof. Yanting Chen from National Taichung University of Education, , talked about how to develop lesson plan.
