TEEC Project Introduction

The "Taiwan Experimental Educator Training Program" is supported by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Taiwan Experimental Education Center (TEEC), National Chengchi University. From Since April 2018 to the present , a 10-month experimental education teacher training program has been offered every year .

We hope to respond to the growing demand for teachers following the enactment of the "Three Laws of Experimental Education." providing support for experimental education schools, institutions, groups or individuals as they prepare teachers. The backgrounds of the course trainees are diverse. TEEC also provides a pathway for traditional teachers, teachers-trained students, or workers in other related fields to enter the professional work of experimental education.

Course instructors, administrative team and trainees collaborate to create a diverse and open learning environment. The courses include basic and life dialogue professional courses, group class co-learning courses and at least 144 hours of field practice. Instruction includes discussions, reflection on the inner life or philosophy of education , emphasizing cross-domain collaboration and self-learning of trainees. As a result, teachers construct the thinking self-cultivation and professional autonomy of experimental educators, and finally emerge with the ability to be effective  experimental educators.

In Taiwan, demand for experimental education is increasing,
but there are not enough teachers to meet the demand in many settings...
With the vigorous development of experimental education, the qualifications and quantity of on-site experimental educators need to be recharged.
With the vigorous development of experimental education, the qualifications and quantity of on-site experimental educators needs to increase.
College students prepared in traditional teacher training have difficulty transitioning to experimental education settings. It is challenging to cultivate future talents in small-scale experimental education groups. Teachers engaging in the transformation of experimental education in public schools face barriers to change.
Therefore, we have created a training program for experimental educators.
We offer robust experimental education resources in the series,  providing access to traditionally trained teachers, college students in teachers training, or workers in other related fields with the skills and a path to enter the professional work of experimental education.
Therefore, we have created a training program for experimental educators.
We cultivate workers with experimental education thinking, professional autonomy, and ability to drive on-site practice.
Participants in the series are exposed to experimental education philosophy, professional autonomy, and opportunities for field-based practice and feedback.
The curriculum emphasizes creativity and instruction uses multiple pedagogical practices. Examples include basic and professional courses, group and cooperative learning activities, and field practice. The series provides a learner-centered group learning training model that aligns with the educational ideals of experimental education.
